Le temps est épouvantable aujourd'hui, tempête et pluie incessante. Rien à faire, à part rester au chaud dans mon atelier et tiens, pourquoi pas nettoyer ma machine à coudre?

The weather is terribly bad today, strong wind and heavy rain. Nothing to do but staying in my workshop and doing all the things I should have done ages ago. Say... cleaning my sewing machine?

J'ai à peine commencé de retirer la plaque à aiguille que j'entends deux petites voix:
- On peut t'aider? ça a l'air rigolo ce que tu fais!

So I'm  just starting when  I hear two little voices:

'Can we help? This looks great fun!'

Harry et Killian already have put their work overall and taken their tool boxes. But before starting they  read the machine instruction book. 
Harry et Killian on déjà enfilé leurs salopettes et pris leurs boîtes à outils. Ils n'ont plus qu'à parcourir le manuel technique.

- On sait tout sur ton Elna Excellence 860, maintenant!
'We know everything about your Elna Excellence 860, now!' ...

Eh bien, allons y!
Fair enough ...

Nous commençons par nettoyer tout autour de la canette. Je ne suis pas sûre qu'on ait besoin d'un marteau et d'une clé mais bon...
We start with cleaning all around the hook area. I am not sure we need  a hammer and a spanner but nevermind.

Nettoyer le support de canette - Cleaning the bobbin support,

                                                                                                              

et remettre la canette en place... and put the bobbin back...

Puis nous enlevons tous les bouts de fils du guide-fil.
C'est un travail assez dangereux...
Then we remove the threads lost in the thread guides. 

Quite a  dangerous job by the way...

Patatras! Killian est tombé! Je lui avais pourtant dit de ne pas grimper sur cette petite bobine mais il n'a pas écouté...

Ouch ! Killian has fallen down!  I told him not to climb on this little spool but he didn't listen...

- Mon chapeau, j'ai perdu mon chapeau! C'est mon chapeau favori! Killian pleure à gros sanglots.
'I've lost my hat! It is my  favourite hat! I need it! Where is it gone? ' Killian is sobbing.

Ils cherchent partout. Finalement, Harry grimpe sur une grosse bobine et retrouve le chapeau qui était coincé entre deux cables.

They look everywhere. Finally, Harry climb on a bigger spool and find the hat in the machine, it was stuck betwen two little wires.

- Oh Harry, tu l'a trouvé! Merci, merci! Je suis tellement content!
'Oh thank you so much, Harry! You've found it! I am so happy!'

Finalement la machine à coudre est nettoyée, personne n'a été blessé et le chapeau est de retour sur la tête de Killian.
Well the machine is now clean, no harm done to anyone and the hat is back on Killian's head.

- Et si on prenait une bonne tasse de thé? propose Harry. Je crois qu'on l'a bien méritée!

- Je ne peux pas prendre le thé avec toi, Harry, ronchonne Killian encore tout bouleversé. Tu n'as qu'une seule tasse et déteste la partager avec toi, c'est dégoûtant!

'What about a nice cup of tea ' Harry says. 'I really think we deserve it!'

'I cannot have tea with you, moans Killian still very upset. 'You only have one cup. I told you before, I hate sharing a cup, it is disgusting!"

- Attends un instant, Killian, dis-je. Je crois que j'ai une solution.
Et je lui donne un joli dé en porcelaine que j'ai trouvé dans mon tiroir.
- Fais attention quand tu verses le thé, le fond n'est pas plat !

'Wait a minute' I say. 'I might have a solution'

And I give Killian a nice porcelain thimble I have found in my drawer.

'The base is not straight, so be careful when you pour your tea in!'

Killian est ravi, et les deux amis grimpent dans le panier de Harry pour boire une bonne tasse de thé vert.

Killian is delighted, and the two friends climb into Harry's basket to share a nice pot of green tea.

- Je me demande bien pourquoi tu ne quittes jamais ton  chapeau, Killian. Il ne fait quand même pas si froid dans l'atelier de Blandine!
- C'est une vieille et triste histoire, répond Killian . Je ne l'ai jamais dit à personne. Mais tu m'a retrouvé mon chapeau, alors je vais te la raconter.

'I really wonder why you always wear a hat or a cap, Killian?' ask Harry.'It is not that cold in Blandine's workshop!'
'It is an old  and sad story' say Killian. 'I've never told anyone. But you have brought me my hat back, so I am telling you everything'.
