J'étais en train de boire mon thé ce matin quand j'ai vu arriver Harry tout affolé.
I was just having my tea this morning when a very upset Harry climbed on the table.
- Sans doute les chats, ai-je répondu.
- Non, on aurait dit des petits cris. J'ai regardé partout ce matin, et je crois qu'il y a quelqu'un coincé sous la vieille machine à coudre!
-Allons voir!
' I didn't sleep last night', he said. 'I heard a lot a funny noises.'
' Probably the cats' I said.
' No, it sounded like tiny cries. I've had a look all around this morning and I think someone is stuck under the old sewing machine.'
'Well, let's have a look'

Sous la machine à coudre à pédale, j'ai aperçu une petite souris grise toute affolée qui se cachait. Le chien a voulu nous aider mais elle était encore plus terrorisée.
Bending down, I spotted a tiny distraught grey mouse hidding under the pedal of the sewing machine. The dog was trying to help but it just panicked her more.
Harry est allée lui parler.
-N'aie pas peur, viens avec moi. Tu vois je suis une souris mois aussi. personne ne te fera de mal ici! Que t'est-t-il arrivé?
Harry talked to her:
'Don't be so afraid, come with me. Look, I am a mouse just like you, no one will do any harm to you over here. What happened to you?'

- J'ai perdu ma maman et mon papa. Un vilain hibou les a mangés tout crus la nuit dernière. Je suis toute seule ! Et j'ai tellement froid!
- Ne t'inquiète pas, je vais m'occuper de toit, a dit Harry. Viens, je vais te faire une bonne tasse de thé pour te réchauffer.
Il l'a emmenée dans on panier et l'a bien enveloppée dans sa veste de treillis. La pauvre petite tremblait de tous ses membres.
'I have lost my mum and my dad. A nasty owl has gobbled them up last night. I am all alone! And I am so cold!'
'Come here and stop worrying. I will take care of you. First thing, you need a good cup of tea to warm you up.'
And he took her to his basket and wrapped her well in his army jacket. The poor little one was shivering.

Et puis il lui a fait une bonne tasse de thé vert (Harry pense que le thé vert soigne absolument tout !).
Then he gave her a nice cup of green tea (Harry keeps thinking that green tea cures absolutely everything!).
- Comment tu t'appelles, petite souris?
- Simone, a répondu la petite souris. Et je suis fatiguée. Je veux dormir.
Harry l'a couchée dans son lit et l'a bien bordée dans sa couverture. Elle s'est endormie aussitôt.
'What is your name, little one?'
'Simone', the little mouse answered. 'And I am tired, I want to sleep.'

Alerté par tout le bruit, Killian est venu aux nouvelles.
- Oh! Qui est-ce?
- Chut, dit Harry, tu vas la réveiller. C'est Simone. Ses parents ont été mangés par un hibou la nuit dernière.Je l'ai trouvée ce matin. C'est elle qui a pleuré toute la nuit.
Alerted by all the noise, Killian comes to see what's going on.
'Oh, who is it?'
'Shhhhh', Harry says. 'You are going to wake her. She is called Simone. Her parents were eaten by an owl last night. I found her this morning. It's her we heard crying all night long.'

- Mais qu'est ce que tu vas faire d'elle, demande Killian. Tu n'y connais rien en bébés.
- C'est vrai, mais je ne peux quand même pas la laisser toute seule ! Elle est bien trop petite ! Je vais me débrouiller, ça ne doit pas être si compliqué.
- Oh là là, dit Killian. Maintenant tu n'as plus le choix. Tu vas vraiment devoir acheter une deuxième tasse pour le thé!
'What are you going to do with her?' Killian asks. 'You know nothing about babies'
'True , but I cannot leave her alone! She is way too young! I am going to manage, it shouldn't be that complicated!'
' Gosh, Harry, you haven't got any choice now but buying a second cup for the tea!'
