Cet après midi, j'ai dit à Harry :
- Ça peut plus continuer comme ça, je n'ai plus de place sur la table pour travailler ! D'abord on y a mis ton panier, et maintenant la chambre de Simone. Il faut qu'on trouve une solution.
- Moi j'en ai une, a dit Harry. Si tu enlèves le canapé qui est devant l'étagère, on pourrait l'utiliser pour faire une chouette maison pour Simone !

Excellente idée, de toutes façon le canapé ne sert jamais!
Mais par quoi va t on commencer?

- Ma chambre! dit Simone
- Ta chambre peut attendre un peu, dis je. On la déménagera quand la maison sera prête.
- Une salle de bains et une cuisine, dit Harry. Ça c'est utile.
- Je vais t'aider à faire une salle de bains, dit Killian. Je me débrouille pas mal en plomberie.

This afternoon, I said to Harry:
'This is ridiculous, I have no more room for working on my table! First we put your basket on it, then Simone's bedroom. We have to find a solution!'
'I've got a solution, Harry says.'We remove the big settie which is in front of  this shelf and we transform it into a nice house for Simone!'

Brilliant idea! Anyway, no one is using the settie.
But what do we do for a start?

'A bedroom for me !' cries Simone.
' No, I say, 'you already have a bedroom. We'll move it into the new house when it is finished.'
'A bathroom and a kitchen', Harry says. 'This is useful'
' I am helping you for the bathroom, Harry', Killian says, 'I am not bad at plumbing.'

Je tapisse une caisse en carton , pose un plafond et un plancher. En bas il y aura la salle de bains et en haut....  chut, c'est une surprise pour Harry!

I cover a box with wall paper, I put a floor and a ceiling in. The first floor will be the bathroom, and the  second floor... shhh, it is a surprise for Harry!

Puis les vrais travaux commencent! Sortir les outils, prendre les mesures... Pendant que Harry pose les robinets de la baignoire, Killian installe un tableau.

- Harry, tu es sûr que c'est bien de mettre La Joconde dans une salle de bains?
- Tout à fait!
Then the real work starts! Finding the tools and taking the mesurement... Killian puts a frame on the wall while Harry is installing the bath taps.

Harry, are you sure a bathroom is the best place for Mona Lisa?'
'Absolutely!'

Harry n'a pas voulu écouter les conseils de Killian et rien ne va comme prévu!
Harry didn't want to listen to Killian's advice and everything is going wrong now!

- Je n'arrive pas à mettre le siphon!

'The waste pipe is terribly hard to put on !'

 Finalement le lavabo est posé... mais il y a un petit problème!

- Tu sais, Harry, tu aurais peut-être dû regarder la notice avant de commencer

The basin is  finally fitted... but there is a slight problem!

'You know Harry, you should have read the instructions before starting!'

- Harry! Harry! crie Simone. Tu as monté le lavabo à l'envers!Comment je vais faire pour me laver les dents?

'Harry! Harry!' Simone cries. 'You put the basin back to front! How can I brush my teeth?'

- J'en ai ras-le-bol! s'écrie Harry. La plomberie c'est trop compliqué!

'I'm fed up!' Harry says.'Plumbing is way too complicated!'

Le lendemain matin, Killian a réparé le lavabo.Ce n'était pas bien grave!
The following morning, Killian has fixed the basin. It wasn't too bad!

- Killian, tu ne trouves pas qu'elle à l'air ronchon, La Joconde?

'Killian, don't you think Mona Lisa looks grumpy?'

Simone et moi avons brodé des tapis. Simone voulait des licornes (- Je suis sûre que Mona Lisa adorait les licornes!, m'a -t-elle dit...). On a rangé les serviettes sur l'étagère et mis des bouteilles de parfum et de savon.Un rouleau de papier toilette et une brosse, et une barre pour sécher les serviettes.
Simone and me have made some embroidered carpets. Simone wanted unicorns on them ('I am sure Mona Lisa loves unicorns', she said). We have folded the towels on the shelf and put perfume and soap bottles in place. Then a toilet roll, a brush, and a towelrail.

- Je vais prendre un bain! dit Simone. Avec mon ballon.
'I am taking a bath!' Simone says. 'With my ball!'

Pendant que Simone barbote, Harry vient admirer la salle de bains.

While Simone is splashing, Harry comes to admire the bathroom.

- Simone! Qu'as-tu fait à la Joconde ?

- Mais tu sais bien qu'elle adore les licornes! Et puis, elle a l'air beaucoup moins coincée comme ça! Tu ne trouves pas?

'Simone! What have you done to Mona Lisa?'

'But you now pretty well she loves unicorns! And she doesn't look so grumpy now, don't you think?'

Ce matin, Tim le facteur a apporté plein de courrier à Harry. Un paquet de chez Amazon, une grande enveloppe, et un catalogue.
This morning, Tim the postman has brought plenty of mail to Harry: a parcel from Amazon, a big envelope and a catalogue.

- Il y a a quelque chose pour moi? demande Simone.
- Je ne sais pas! On va regarder.
Harry ouvre le paquet :
- Oh, le livre de Johnny Rotten que j'avais commandé ! Et un livre de Pinocchio pour toi!
- Oh merci, Harry !

'Is there anything for me?' Simone asks.
'I don't know! Let's have a look!'
Harry opens the parcel:
'Great! The Johnny Rotten book I have ordered! And this story of Pinocchio is for you!'
'Oh thanks Harry!'

Puis il ouvre la lettre :
- Regarde Simone, c'est mes copains Paul et Jann, ils m'ont envoyé leur photo et un cadre!
-Tu vas les mettre sur ton mur?

Then he opens the letter:
'Look, Simone, my friends Paul and Jann have sent me their photo and a framed picture!'
'Will you hang them on your wall?'

Et ça c'est quoi? Un catalogue de fringues punk!
And what is this? It's a catalogue of punk clothes!

- Tu sais , Harry, tu devrais t'acheter des nouveaux habits. Tu portes toujours les mêmes.
- J'aimerais bien, mais ça coûte cher dans ce catalogue ! Je vais demander plutôt demander à Blandine de m'en faire.
- On va faire des croix sur ce que tu veux pour lui montrer.

'You know, Harry, you should buy new clothes. You always wear the same!'
'I wish I could, but everything in this catalogue is terribly expensive! I'd better to ask Blandine to make some.'
'Let's tick everything you want to show her.'

Quand ils m'apportent le catalogue, il y  a des croix partout!
And very soon they have ticked almost all the items in the catalogue!

Par où commencer?
- Un pantalon! dit Harry. J'ai souvent froid aux fesses!
- Et une cravate, en cuir  comme celle de Paul, ça t'irait bien ! dit Simone.
- Une nouvelle veste, avec plus de poches. Et des nouveaux  piercings.
- Moi aussi! Moi aussi! s'écrit Simone
- Non dit Harry, tu es trop petite pour avoir des piercings!

Where to start?
'Trousers!'  Harry says.' My bottom is very often very cold!'
'And a leather tie, like Paul's, it would suit you well...' Simone says.
'A new jacket with plenty of pockets. And new piercings!'
'Me too! Me too!' Simone cries.
'No' says Harry 'You are too young for piercings!'

- Et des Tshirt punk!
- Moi aussi! Moi aussi! crie Simone. Et un bracelet à clous! Regarde, je t'ai tout dessiné..
'Punk Tshirts too!'
'Me too! Me too!' cries Simone.'And a bracelet with nails! Look, I have drawn everything we want...'

- Bon, on va peut être s'arrêter là, dis je. Je ne vais pas y passer tout  l'après midi!
' Can we stop there, I say, I won't be sewing all afternoon long...'

Pendant que je couds les vêtements, Harry et Simone lisent leurs livres, et Harry accroche son cadre sur le mur.
Harry and Simone read their books and put the framed picture  and the photo  in place while I am making the clothes.

Et quelques heures plus tard j'ai fait : des Tshirts pour tous les deux, un manteau pour Harry avec une grande broderie dans le dos, un pantalon en tartan et un gilet de cuir, un kilt pour Simone et une petite jupe à rayures,
A couple of hours later I have made: Tshirts for both of them, a jacket with plenty of pockets and a big embroidery on the back for Harry, along with tartan trousers and a leather vest, a kilt  and a little striped skirt for Simone.

- T'as oublié le bracelet! dit Simone
- Et la cravate en cuir ! dit Harry
- Et les piercing, s'écrient-ils en choeur.

- Demain!

'You have forgotten the bracelet with nails!' Simone says.
'And the leather tie!' says Harry.
'And the piercings' they cry all together.

'Tomorrow!'
